World of Warcraft

Yesterday night me and Busso decided to play a one-vs-one match of World of Warcraft, including the expansion.

We played with two character each: I was the Horde (Warrior and Shaman) and Busso was the Alliance (Priest and Paladin).

The new rules (blue quest, new power and traits, destiny deck) are quite nice and really improve the game. As told before, WoW is a great game but with a really long learning curve, because you need to know your character deck very well and make the right trait/power choices.

Was a long time since I played it and so I was not able to configure well my warrior in the beginning. Busso's Paladin, on the other side, shows again to be one of the strongest characters in the game: just before reaching the IV level was able to roll 6 green and 6 red without using mana.

We decided to stop the game at 23rd turn, after I defeated a blue Doom Guard, making the final battle between us. Alliance's Paladin was a level IV and the Priest a level III; my Warrior was a level IV and my Shaman a level III. I was really well configured for killing monsters (I was able to play something like 4-8 attrition avery turn) but not so good against other players, sinc I was lacking rerolls.

Busso defeated me in 4 combat rounds and win the game.

As usual we noticed that we wait too much before trying heavy quest or attacking the bosses. Probably both of us will already have had opportunity to try to kill the big boss.

I really would like to play it again soon. I think is a nice 2-4 player game : with more than 4 the downtime increase too much.

good play

Battlelore: an Epic Battle

The last game session before my holiday departure was a really epic session, both because we was playing Battlelore Epic and also because the temperature in my penthouse was close to boiling point!

Me and Ponz fight against Glauco and Gianluca a fiercy battle
and finally we won without too many difficulties.

Liga (me) and Ponz (on the right) dressed propely for the hig temperatures in the penthouse!

They start the game with an impressive amount of dwarfs units but with few ranged troops and badly placed. They also deploy, just in the middle of the battlefield, a stupid Hill Giant that spent all the time looking the rocks in his lair!

The battle is going really bad for Glauco and Gianluca as you can see in ther faces!

We have a lot of mounted units, few goblins and some good ranged archers really smarty deployed, covering all the center of the battlefield.

Also the Wizard Tower help us to get a lot of mana. In fact we won the battle mostly due to a lucky and smart use of spells, most preventing and slowling Gianluca and Glauco attacks!

Call to Arms!

Ciao a tutti
Hi all

last week, with my usual game-mate Gianluca, we have tried Call to Arms, the first official Battlelore Expansion.

We have decided to use the expansion in the advanced way ... mixing two decks, getting 4 cards and after all 2 specialist card.

Abbiamo giocato Foreboding Forest, lo scenario ufficiale 25A.
We used Foreboding Forest official scenario 25A.

Both we included an Hill giant in our army but the two big-guys spent most of the time on their lairs throwing rocks over enemy's armies.

The game goes really well for me: my War council was a lv 3 warrior, a lv 2 commander and the giant. Gianluca has a lv 3 commander, the giant and a lv 1 thief and the Earth Elemental.

I was able to set up my army very well and thank to the specialist card I was able to display 4 dwarves units! Gianluca set up was poor and I think most of the battle result was decided just in the beginning.

The game was quite balanced but I got two units of advantage right in the beginning and thank to a bright use of the spells I was able to reach 3 kill quite easley.

Then Gianluca was able to summon the Earth Elemental that quickly moves into my rear. He was able to make some casualities but not to kill any units and finally I was able to kill him for my 4th points.

Then, with a last charge right in the middle of Gianluca army, I was able to close the match and win the battle!

Was another defeat for Gianluca that demonstrate again to be a good player but not enough for me!

alla prossima battaglia!
to the next battle!

Dopo abbiamo giocato a To Court the King.

After we played To Court the King. The game was nice but I think is not properly a two player game. I won the game, anyway!

Venerdì al TreEmme: Fire and Axe

La prima è stata una partita a 4 a To Court the King. Io, Jappo, Danilo e Dante.

Dopo abbiamo giocato, io, Jappo e Viki, a Fire and Axe.

Gita a Cerwood 17 giugno 2007

I genitori in trepidante attesa ...

El-DoX: Barony of Letnev, nero.
Liga: Sardakk N’Orr, giallo.
Monty: Mentak Coalition, verde.
Busso: Xxcha Kingdom, grigio.
Gianluca: L1Z1X Mindnet, rosso.
Zhu: Universities of Jol-Nar, blu.
Pietro: Federation of Sol, arancione.
Michele: Yssaril Tribes, viola.

Qua siamo nelle fasi iniziali: Zhu, Io, El-Dox e Gianluca.

After the afternoon and the Dungeon Twister tournament, the evening was filled by trhe Dungeoneer tournament. Jappo was able to get, as special prize, some illustration signer by the author!

The batte was between 12 players: 3 tables for 4 players each!

Tavolo #1 Table #1

Tavolo #2 Table #2

Tavolo #3 Table #3

In the first match I played quite well and got the second place in the table, really close to complite the 3rd quest. The second game was not so good: the rooms I need to reach for complete the quests was all bad placed and appear on the map too much late!

Ecco Jappo alle prese con i punteggi!
Here is Jappo recording the scores!

Here he is explaining really peculiar topics!

Busso in the final game. The tournament was nice but the winner was really too much (really too much!) lucky.

In the next pos the detailed report of the Twilight Imperium game wiuth 8 players!

MiniMod2007: Dungeon Twister

Saturday afternoon was the time for the Dungeon Twister tournament, official DT league tournament.

Eravamo in 6: io, Auro, Jappo, Carlo, Fede e Enorobs!

Nexus supported the tournament giving 3 games as prizes: Throught the Desert, Drakon 3ed, Cave Troll 2ed

We was 6: me, Auro, Jappo, Carlo, Fede and Enorobs. After the first round Carlo let his place to Ale.

In the first round my opponent was Fede: I must admit he got really big improvement, but was easy for me to win 5-2.

In the second round my opponent was Auro (he beated Jappo in the first round). Nice game: I won 5-2

Partita e torneo.

Last match was against Enorobs. First time I met him. Was a really quick game (less than 20 minutes): he let my Goblin with the treasure run away for 3 points and an easy win. Game and Tournament!

La classifica finale è stata: Liga, Fede, Enorobs, Jappo, Auro e Ale.

The final ranking was: Liga, Fede, Enorobs, Jappo, Auro and Ale
