A che gioco giochiamo ?

Ciao a tutti

Memoir'44 Tournament: The Final

Here we are with the Memoir'44 Torunament final. The 4 players accessing the final are: Gianluca (with the best score, 5 wins in 6 matches) than Ponz, Liga and Saverio (taking the position of Jappo that was unable to attend the final).

We decided to play the 3 scenarios of the German invasion of Polland in 1939. In every scenario the player with the best score decided the side to use.

The scenarioso was all well balanced and for expert players so the decision was not easy.

The local game store, Games Accademy, decided to sponsorize the torunament giving an Air Pack expansion to the winner.

First Battle

The first scenario was Operation Fall Weiss: Axis armies has to beat the weak Polish defences taking either Kidno o Lodz.

Ponz decided to be Axis against Liga and Gianluca to be Polish against Saverio.

The Battle was good and in the end I was able to beat Ponz thanks to the point awarded mantining the control of Lodz and Kidno

here the end of the battle

Gianluca also beated Saverio. Probably we will had to use the suggested option to give Axis 5 cards instead of four ... anyway.

Second Battle

The second scenario was Destruction of the Polish Armies. The German has to pass over a weak but well settled polish army, saving enough tanks for the future battles.

Gianluca decided to use Polish again so I have to play Germans. I was able to play a really good start, killing most of Gianluca units without any significant losses

Gianluca was really worried this time since I was in a real good and strong position, with 5 full tanks units still ready in the back.

But Memoir'44 is good because the things could change quickly. I was blocked without cards in the cantral section and Gianluca was able to recover and get the 6 medals! A good win for him!

On the other battlefield Ponz decided to use Polish this time and was beaten easly by Saverio.

Third Battle

The last battle was between me and Saverio, Gianluca and Ponz. I decided to use Germans and Gianluca did the same in First Warasw Scenario.

The fight for Warsaw was good: in the beginning I was quite unluckly and Saverio's artillery made me a lot of losses, but than I was able to broke in my left side and finally taking Warsaw with a quick Infantry Assoult.

On the other battlefield Ponz was dominating the battle, letting me hope in a final victory in the tournament.

Gianluca again was able to recover a bad start and win the tournament. If only Ponz was able to destroy the last infantry clos to Wasaw the history will got a different end!

Here I have, sadly, to award Gianluca with a copy of Air Pack

Soccer Tactics World: Busso beat Liga 1 0

Hi all

in the road approaching the first TreEmme League of Soccer Tactics World Liga team get defeated by Busso. The match was fought almost always in the midfield since the defences was too much strong. In the second time a good action by Busso bring the only score in the game.

Liga tried to recover but was only able to get a corner kick. And teh game, sadly, end with Busso winning. Luckly it was just a pre-championship trying match!

To the next match

Memoir'44: First Warsaw

Yesterday night me and Glauco fight First Warasw, the 3rd scenario in the German-Polish war.

I was playing the Germans and Glauco the Polish. We decided to use the Air Pack and, in the end, I think was not a good idea since the scenario was balanced with the normal rules.

Anyway, here is the report.

I got a real shocking start with 2 left-all command cards and an armour assault. At the end of the 3rd turn the Polish troops near Modin was almost destroyed (just a damaged artillery was still in the city).
I start to concentrate on my right wing and that was my first mistake. The artillery on the left heavily damaged my tanks and soldiers. Only the lucky searfing of my Messerschmitt was able to kill the last artillery opening the gates of Modin.

But in the center and in the right the battle was fierce. Polish infantries advanced occupying the wood close to Pruszkow slowing the German advance. Finally I was able to clear out Warsaw: no enemy troops anywhere in the maps and a final rush to the city ... but the (improbable) Polish aviation make a ride on Modin killing my unit and bringing an unexpected Allies victory ... well done Glauco ... to the next battle!

Real a nice scenario, balanced and with interesting victory conditions. I think it is better to play without the Air Pack rules.

Hi Gamers

Yesterday in a really crowded club TreEmme (Modena), more than 50 members, was the time for the 1st day of the Memoir'44 Tournament, supported by the local game shop Games Accademy. 12 generals fought over the 4 fronts of the World War II in 3 difficlut scenarios. Next Friday other 3 plays to get the 4 best generals that will fight the finals.

Le fazioni erano così composte:

The two factions:

Alleati: Liga, Gianluca, Jappo, Davide, Misu e Luca
Asse: Ponz, Dugo, Francia, Saverio, Marco e Ilich

The battle was fierce but the Allies got an advantage that will need a great feat from the Axis in the second evening to win. 11 of the 18 scenarios has been won by Allies: 4 over 4 in the Pacific and 3 over 3 on the East front. Axis has been better on the Meditterranean theatre (2 over 3) ane in the West front (5 over 8).

Here the details and the ranking after the first night of play:

primo scontro:

Misu - Dugo 6 - 4 (ovest)
Luca - Francia 1 - 5 (ovest)
Gianluca - Ilich 6 - 2 (est)

Davide - Saverio 3 - 4 (meditterraneo)

secondo scontro:

All the battles ended with the obtainment of the specific scenarios objectives and was 0:45 when the last fight ended.

Here the final ranking (Allies general are marked with a star). 3 points for a full win,2 for a win to the end of time and 1 point for a draw

* Liga (18-5) 9 +13
* Gianluca (17-7) 9 +10
Ponz (15-7) 6 + 8
* Jappo (16-13) 6 +3
Dugo (16-5) 6 +1
* Luca (10-13) 3 -3
Ilich (11-15) 3 -4
Saverio (10-14) 3 -4
* Davide (9-13) 3 -4
Francia (8-12) 3 -4
* Misu (10-15) 3 -5
Marco (8-13) 0 -5

Alleati 33, Asse 21

Buon gioco a tutti e a venerdì prossima
